Wakefield NHS Trust
The Trust provides acute and routine hospital based ophthalmology care including cataract surgery and is provided from Pindersfields, Dewsbury and Pontefract Hospitals.
Community Health & Eyecare Ltd
Community Health & Eyecare are commissioned to provide General Ophthalmology care including glaucoma services to the Wakefield area from three facilities as well as cataract surgery from one of them.
Low Vision Service (Various providers)
A low vision service is provided by more than one optometry provider at various locations across the district.
NewMedica
Newmedica are a Consultant led national community ophthalmology provider.
Operose Health  * Important Note *
Operose Health Ltd have announced that with effect from the 31st May 2023, they will no longer be providing services to the AQP Community Ophthalmology Service within the Wakefield District, when their contract comes to an end.
Practice Plus Group
Practice Plus Group is a national community Ophthalmology provider, who have a mobile unit in Castleford (currently every Thursday), to deliver a fast-track macular service. They are not commissioned by the ICB but practices in our area may wish to refer in to them having completed their own due diligence.
Phoenix Health Solutions
Phoenix provide a commissioned Community Ophthalmology Service, including laser capsulotomies and cataract surgery, from a single site in South Elmsall.
SpaMedica
Spamadica are commissioned to provide a Community Ophthalmology service including cataract surgery and laser capsulotomies for the Wakefield area through their facility in Ossett.
